- The true cost of IT
A recent UN study showed that it costs 244g fossil fuel, 25 kg of chemicals and 1500 liter of water to produce a standard PC and monitor. This is similar to the energy and resources used to manufacture an average family car.
Businesses are able to help with this problem in one of 3 easy ways.

1) How green are you?
Extend the life of PCs and other IT equipment by upgrading rather than buying new.
Option 1: Upgrade
Donate unwanted IT equipment to Computer Aid International (CAI) (0207 281 0091).

CAI is able to re-use old IT equipment in the developing world where it is desperately needed.
Option 2: Donate
Contact a UK charity or organisation, that will be able to collect and recycle unwanted PCs, printers and monitors.
