Climate teaching in our schools 'inadequate'
A leading scientist has called for an urgent review of how global warming and climate change are taught in UK schools.

Richard Pike, the chief executive of the Royal Society of Chemistry, has asked for a review group to be setup to investigate how to overcome the current "flawed presentation to pupils".

Global warming teaching is dogged by "omissions, simplifications and misrepresentation," said Mr. Pike.

A spokesman for the Department of Education and Skills said: "There are opportunities to teach about climate change across the curriculum."
