Rise of 6.4 degrees - Most of life on the planet is exterminated
The oceans lose their oxygen and turn stagnent, and releaseing hydrogen sulphide gas, which can destroy the ozone layer. Humanity reduced to a few survivors eking out an existence near the poles.
 
Rise of 5.4 degrees - Sea levels rise by 15-20 feet
The West Antarctic ice sheet breaks up, eventually adding 15-20 feet to global sea levels. Glaciers drying up around the world will threaten millions of lives in India and Bangladesh. World food supplies run out.
 
Rise of 4.4 degrees - Spread of dessert and collapse of agriculture.
Permafrost in the Arctic and Siberia melts and vast quantities of CO2 is released into the atmosphere. Growth of deserts in Spain, Greece and Italy. More than 50% of wild species are wiped out. Agriculture is no longer possible in Australia.
 
Rise of 3.4 degrees - Rainforest turns to dust
The Amazonian rainforest burns in a firestorm covering South America with ash and smoke. The entire Arctic ice-cap disappears in the summer months, leaving the North Pole ice-free for the first time in 3 mill. years.
 
Rise of 2.4 degrees - Coral reefs almost extinct
Sand dunes appear across 5 states from Texas in the south to Montana in the north, which wipes out agriculture and cattle farms in these states.
The Great Barrier Reef is wiped, and about 1/3 of all species on the planet face extinction. Low-lying nations are lost due to rising sea levels.
