UK Gas, Electricity and Petrol bills up £300 per year
Record oil prices and the rising cost of gas on the world market are pushing UK fuel bills up. Hurricane Katrina is further adding to the cost of oil.

The average UK household bill for petrol has gone up with ~£180 a year. In addition, the average UK household bill for gas and electricity has increased with ~£120 a year, taking the total rise of fuel to just under £300 per UK household.

While switching energy supplier may help reduce some of the cost, many UK households will have to consider how to cut their energy consumption, as an effective way of saving money and off-set the steep increase in fuel prices.
