Private member's bill to tackle cause of climate change
Alan Whitehead and Mark Lazarowicz, Labour MPs for Southampton and Edinburgh & Leith, have both presented a private member's bill to the House of Commons. After a successful 2nd reading on the 11th November 2005, the bills are expected to become law in 2006.

Both bills aim to improve energy efficiency in all UK residential accommodation, and will be an important step in reducing UK carbon emissions.
