Letter to the Editor - Voluntary approach

Sir,
With news this week that UK carbon dioxide emissions have continued to rise in 2005 and new research appearing to show that people are ready for green taxes and cars, would it not be the right time for Tony Blair and his inactive Labour Government to move away from a voluntary approach to cutting greenhouse gases to one where we all - on equal terms - are forced to reduce our emissions year on year.
