Letter to Sainsbury regarding food miles

Dear Sir Hampton,
When recently shopping in Sainsbury, I was unable to find any apples or pears from England or Europe. What I did find was apples from China, South Africa and New Zealand. Very disappointing indeed, and I haste to add that I left without spending any money in your supermarket.
When will Sainsbury start to reduce food imports from countries, which carries a high carbon cost and start sourcing more food closer to home to help reduce food miles and the carbon footprint of Sainsbury generally?
Kind regards,
Flemming Bermann
