While the UK Government may be premature in suggesting that the “green shoots” of recovery are just around the corner, there are many reasons to be optimistic despite the current financial crisis.

The election of Barack Obama being perhaps the most important because Mr. Obama believes that global warming is real and that action is required now - not later.

Let us therefore celebrate the “green shoots” of opportunity emerging from the USA, as the prospect of tackling climate change globally is the best for decades.
